Looking at these photos from the beautifully styled  By Nord catalogue makes me feel happy! Yes autumn is here, but  put on a cosy sweater,  light a fire and all is still well with the world!

An architect's dream home

This beautiful house is the home of Jonas Bjerre-Poulsen one of the founders of the talented  Norm Architects in Copenhagen. The result is a very successful  renovation project and now fabulous family home.

There's  lots and lots to swoon over in this home but I'm particularly taken by the polished concrete flooring that flows so easily through-out the house.

A gorgeous shop in Shoreditch

Yesterday a bunch of us were treated to the  Decode Tour of Shoreditch design triangle, and what an inspiring tour it turned out to be! The tour was led by the lovely Daniel Nelson  who took us to some very unique shops and workshops, amongst them  the  Tord Boontje Shop where I was totally seduced by the working environment and the absolute stunning lighting.....

From the Love of milk comes...

Anders Drage's Mountain Milk bottle!
Anders studied graphic design and was asked, as a final exam project to design the packaging of something he loved that could be sold as an international product.

He loves Norwegian milk and went on to design a milk bottle with a similar status to that of a high end  water bottle.

Don't you just love it?

Old meets new in a Stockholm apartment...

I've fallen for this cool Stockholm apartment with its mixture of old and new furniture, the raw concrete, black flooring, industrial lamps, which all together give it a very individual and industrial look!

Especially loving...

Make it a cool splash

I'm not complaining but as it's very hot here in London today  I  wouldn't mind a quick dip somewhere really nice...

When I came across this image from the striking Astrup Fearnley Museum of Modern Art in Oslo it got me dreaming of

cool architecture and refreshing cool water....

Make an entrance ...

It can be a challenge to make the most of small spaces but don't you find that with a bit of creative planning small spaces can make a huge splash too?

The entrances shown here have all got three things in common: they are small, quirky and cool!

Loving the stiletto shoe rack!

Heavenly stairs ...

Loving the fact that something as functional and sturdy as a staircase manages to be

 as beautiful as a sculpture
dominating yet not overpowering ...

Danish design on tour

Yesterday I went to check out the Danish hospitality house during London 2012 and what an wonderful experience it was too! Yes it was raining but as we all got handed a rain poncho it really didn't put a damper on things and people even sat down to watch the games on the large screen provided!

I was obviously excited to see our TASTE collection from designerSHIP forming part of "Danish Design on Tour" all exhibited in a gorgeous sustainable house of course!

With free entrance and free Danish hot dogs and gourmet tasters it really is a day out for everyone!

Don't just take my word for it go and check out the Danish spirit for yourself!
