Five reasons for swooning over this apartment ..

This is  the home of the interior designer Tanja Jänicke, and perhaps not surprisingly it is an apartment packed with creative solutions! I  especially adore the way black, white, and natural materials play a major part throughout!

When love is a tree stump..

I have fallen in love with these Nordic tree stumps!  They are the creation of Cathrine Glende from  the farm Krosser in Ås, Norway.

Her idea is simple, and that's perhaps why the stumps are so very special.  The entire "production" takes place at the farm.  This is no mass production! Each pine tree is carefully selected  cut into chunks, sanded, dried and nurtured before it is finally painted.

 Simple and beautiful!

A bite of something Danish...

Okay, this is definitely a case of "what took me so long!" But frankly I thought, who could possibly compete with my mother's cooking!  I've got to be careful here, but Madsen's restaurant  is right up there, and has managed to turn the Scandinavian classics into something contemporary and cool! And if my hubby has any sense he would secure that table for our Valentines special!

My poster love this week...

This week I'm loving these gorgeous Danish vintage posters! I adore them for their innocence, charm and for being so very  Danish!  If you enjoy antique posters too, head to Antikbar where loads more are on offer.

Did you know that when you spend time on the Stockholm underground you are also hanging out in the world's largest and most impressive museum? The "gallery" is  a ridiculously impressive 110 kilometers long, and displays the works of hundreds of artists!

When shopping brings happiness...

It has just been a few months since Lotta Agaton opened the door to her studio shop in Stockholm, but already it has created quite a stir, and it isn't difficult to see why! Lotta only sells things she likes and firmly believes that shopping can bring you happiness!  I'm up for visiting this shopping heaven of Nordic design, so Lotta Agaton will definitely be on my list when visiting Stockholm this summer.
Lotta Agaton in currently open Thursdays between 12.00 - 20.00 hrs
and can be found on Rådmansgatan 7 in Stockholm
