A smart Danish house

I recently came across this sustainable house designed in the Nordic tradition of optimising light by using large windows and light materials throughout.

By using only solid materials this is a low maintenance house that will look even more striking with age.

A stylist at home

Today I'm swooning over a restored warehouse in a trendy part of Copenhagen called Christianshavn.  The warehouse is now the home of stylist Louise Kamman Riising and TV host Jacob Riising, but has previously been the carpentry workshop and packing office for Fritz Hansen, as well as the home of the Danish Film School!

I'm loving...  the gym rings
& the high gloss floor throughout

At home with Therese Sennerholt

Following on from my post on Therese Sennerholt yesterday I have just discovered that her home is up for sale so for me the excitement is now complete!  Here is a chance to see how this celebrated art director has chosen to style her own home

Therese Sennerholt has done it again...

As you all know I am a HUGE fan of both Therese Sennerholt  +  stylist  & blogger Lotta Agaton. Therese's new collection styled by Lotta, is seriously cool  and the quotes, well they are as punchy as ever!

The collection will not be on sale until Friday

but here is a little sneak preview

The pictures are styled by Lotta Agaton and photographed by Henrik Bonnevier.

A house with a strong pulse

Who would have know that this gem of a house was formerly a fisherman's cottage? Located just outside Copenhagen this cool light-filled home shows no signs of its shabbier past.

The Danes really do know how to create crisp white spaces ...

A townhouse in kartoffelrækkerne

You will find this beautiful home in a historic area of Copenhagen called  kartoffelrækkerne [potato rows]. The area was built 130 years ago by the Workers' Building society  to create affordable housing for poor families. A home like this would house 2 families of about 12 people on 3 floors. The area was named kartoffelrækkerne not just because the houses were "planted" in rows but as people were very poor all they could afford to eat was potatoes. Needless to say, today  kartoffelrækkerne is a very desirable trendy neighbourhood where you will find gorgeous homes like the one we see here.

A dog bed that rocks...

--> Anyone who shops at Skandivis will know that I don't usually go for bright vibrant colours! But when I first saw these cool guys it was love at first sight and I really do think they rock!

but  what do you think ...?

A touch of house envy....

Check out the scenery and surroundings of this fabulous home in the town of Stavanger in Norway! No wonder that I am suffering from a bout  of house envy!

The house which had its former life in the 60’s has now been brought up to the requirements of modern 21st century by Element Architects and sits easily next to its more traditional neighbours.  Another s showcase of amazing Scandinavian design.
