A townhouse in kartoffelrækkerne

You will find this beautiful home in a historic area of Copenhagen called  kartoffelrækkerne [potato rows]. The area was built 130 years ago by the Workers' Building society  to create affordable housing for poor families. A home like this would house 2 families of about 12 people on 3 floors. The area was named kartoffelrækkerne not just because the houses were "planted" in rows but as people were very poor all they could afford to eat was potatoes. Needless to say, today  kartoffelrækkerne is a very desirable trendy neighbourhood where you will find gorgeous homes like the one we see here.

A touch of house envy....

Check out the scenery and surroundings of this fabulous home in the town of Stavanger in Norway! No wonder that I am suffering from a bout  of house envy!

The house which had its former life in the 60’s has now been brought up to the requirements of modern 21st century by Element Architects and sits easily next to its more traditional neighbours.  Another s showcase of amazing Scandinavian design.

We Do like wood we do...

As the daughter of a carpenter I value the finished product resulting from excellent craftsmanship.

"We Do Wood", is a fine example of innovative design made to last...

The  Danish brand We Do Wood was founded by Danish designers Henrik Thygesen and Sebastian Jørgensen in 2006 & they now make desks, chairs, tables and much more out of bamboo.
