Oh to be a Hoptimist!

On my recent trip back home I found the country invaded by these guys! Also a common sight in  the sixties, they have somewhat made a revival! The cute and very optimistic guys and girls are called Hoptimist, they were designed by the Danish furniture designer Hans Gustav Ehrenreich. What is the use of them I hear you say?  Hoptimist are at their happiest on your desk or table, gently bobbing around with every movement in the vicinity.  I have brought a few back to the UK as they do make me....

A small world in pictures ...

I l o v e  checking out other people's houses, so when Living Etc announced their house tour I jumped at the chance, and together with some of my blogger friends,  went on a house adventure of North London.  One of the houses we visited is the home of Irenie Cossey who is the designer behind IS Designers and this gorgeous collection of miniature scenes from everyday  life ...

The Re Turned Birds

I have just come across these CUTE "Re Turned birds" on the wonderful blog Puredeco & just couldn't wait to share them with you!  The birds are the work of the Norwegian designer Lars Beller Fjetland  who creates the birds from leftover wood.
Adoring the name too!

The so striking Cocoa Eyes

The amazing cocoa eyes logo was designed by the Swedish graphic designer  Olle Eksell  for Mazetti Ögon;  a Swedish chocolate factory.  The chocolate factory has now been lovingly restored and functions as a hotel, nightclub as well as a cultural center .

Check out the Mazetti-eyes that are evident throughout the building, as well as the poster as it is featured in various magazines!

This Cocoa Eyes poster was printed in 1999 by Olle Eksell for his exhibition at Form Design center in Malmö, Sweden, and often pops up in magazine shoots.

An office hotel

An office hotel is a hot desk the Danish way! For me this is just the perfect space for home workers to come and connect with other people, but there is a catch! The LYNfabrik is located in Denmark so unfortunately, too far to commute!
This amazing old factory, houses a variety of creative people who either rent a hot desk, or just come  to spend a day in the cafe, and thereby have the opportunity to connect with other people and benefit from this vibrant and creative environment. Lynfabrik even houses its own window gallery! How much cooler can it get?!

It is fair to say that I also
♥ Lynfabrikken
